1M1C – June 2024: Céline Roussel, Business Management and Disputes Management

As the sunny weather returns, let’s take the opportunity to find out more about Céline Roussel, a member of the Sales Department for the last 13 years. Her current position is ‘ Head of Business Management and Disputes Management’.

How would you describe your typical working day?

I begin my day with the business side of things, looking after my customer accounts; at the same time, I look at the disputes aspect of my work, with the help of my assistants.

What projects are you currently working on?

As regards disputes, I’m conducting a more in-depth analysis of our credit notes in tandem with the Management Control department.

Regarding debt recovery, I work in partnership with the accounts and legal departments to improve how we manage overdue invoice reminders.

As far as the business aspect is concerned, we are currently harmonizing sales documentation with the two Julies with whom I work.

In a few words, describe your role to us.

  • Organizational: I wear two hats in this position, the business side and the dispute management side - being organized is critical.
  • Managerial: I help the dispute management team process credit note requests and develop initiatives to keep their issuance down to a minimum.
  • Analytical: Analyzing forecasts, dispute statistics and customer KPIs.

What are the key challenges or goals you have at work?

Keeping customer complaints down to a minimum by working hard to make specific improvements and thus boost customer satisfaction and hit our goals.

If you could choose anyone at all to be your mentor, who would it be?

I don’t have a mentor, I simply adopt an approach to life based on positivity and perseverance, which has turned me into the person I am today.

"Make your life a dream and a dream your reality", this quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry reflects my way of looking at life.

What do you like best about your work?

What I like most is clients recognizing when we do a good job, taking a deep dive into disputes and sorting them out with the customer and, of course, the team spirit in the sales department which allows us to overcome all challenges, TOGETHER.

Which professional achievement are you most proud of?

I came from the property sector and successfully adapted to and became proficient in a sector I wasn’t familiar with, the seafood market. This was a big change of direction for me! I’d like to thank Crusta C for putting their trust in me.

What advice would you give to new team members?

Sign up for gym membership before coming to work in the sales department! Cakes and sweets are what keep us going!

On a more serious note, you need to be versatile, well-organized and enthusiastic! Also, to be on board with Crusta C’s corporate values and to integrate them into your work!

I’m no chef, but I know a simple, easy summer recipe – prawn/avocado/mango tartare – it’s absolutely delicious!

Nicely presented in a verrine or on a plate, it’s a delight to behold and to sample, as well as being a ‘light’ recipe that’s refreshing to eat and full of flavour!

We’d like to thank Céline for agreeing to take part in our June interview!
