1M1E – April 2023: Lucie CHAUBET, Purchasing Assistant
For the month of April, we’d like to introduce you to Lucie Chaubet, our Purchasing Assistant and raw materials procurement for both our l'Isle-Jourdain and Arras factories!
How would you describe your typical working day?
Days are marked by production targets and the more sporadic nature of customer orders: adapting to orders of both inorganic and organic materials.
What projects are you currently working on?
At the moment I’m tackling negative inventory items to try to ensure we have exactly what we need in terms of stocks of packaging in the factory and can order the right amounts at the right time.
In a few words, describe your role to us.
Versatility, Speed and Meticulousness.
- You have to be versatile in case of colleague absences at other sites. We’ve learnt to supply the factories for which we’re not normally responsible. This enables us to avoid service interruptions.
- Speedy: to negotiate delivery deadlines with suppliers and speed the transportation of inorganic and organic materials.
- Of course, you have to be meticulous and focused to ensure the various sites are supplied with the right articles and have everything they need.
What are the key challenges or goals you have at work?
I’m learning on the job, every day. I’m improving every day too and gaining in self-confidence.
If you could choose anyone at all to be your mentor, who would it be?
My grandfather. He successfully founded a business which continues to do well.
What do you like best about your work?
A day working at Crusta C is never a boring day!
Which professional achievement are you most proud of?
Having discovered a new profession in a new field: prawn supply and distribution!
What advice would you give to new team members?
To hold tight and persevere. Above all, don’t be afraid to ask questions or to say that you haven’t quite mastered a skill and that you need to work on it some more.
April’s question is: Easter is a time for delicious food. What’s your particular weakness?
I absolutely adore marshmallow bears!
We’d like to thank Lucie for agreeing to take part in our April interview!
