Crusta C has its roots in a family story – one of cooking and prawns from the tropics – which has been ongoing for more than 25 years now.

1993

Crusta d’Oc founded, l’Isle-Jourdain

Crusta d’Oc first came into being in l’Isle-Jourdain.
Its initial goal was to market quality prawns in the area around Toulouse, before expanding nationwide.

The adventure starts with 8 employees.
Versatility is the name of the game – in the morning, customer prospection and marketing, production in the afternoon and deliveries in the evening!

1996

Foundation of Capécrus, Boulogne-sur-Mer

Three years after the foundation of Crusta d’Oc, Capécrus was set up in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Its location on a number of important transport corridors made it possible to make inroads into the national market.

2003

Foundation of TCC in Vitrolles

Ten years after the foundation of Crusta d’Oc, TCC set up shop in Vitrolles.
Creating an opening onto the Mediterranean, this third site extended the geographical reach of the group without being too far-removed from the Crusta C site at Boulogne-sur-Mer.

2010

Turnover reaches fifty million euros

A symbolic figure is hit, clear evidence of the excellent work carried out by the three businesses.

100 employees

Another threshold is crossed in terms of the workforce.
There are now 100 employees, enabling the various businesses to go from strength to strength.

The 3 Crusta C businesses merge into a single entity

However, the firm maintains its links with various regions through its production sites and the specializations of each individual site.

10,000 tonnes of prawns sold

An important milestone was reached in 2013 when Crusta C reached 10,000 tonnes of prawns sold over the course of the year.

Crusta C joins the JMI group

This French family-run company was established on 01/01/2017 by the merger of the businesses run by the Besnardeau and Nguyen families.

The goal is to become the top supplier of tropical prawns on the European market by boasting all-round excellence in every aspect of the industry and through the development of local partnerships.

150 employees

Crusta C boasts a reliable, efficient team spread over 3 sites: Isle Jourdain, Boulogne-sur-Mer and Vitrolles.

The first big get-together//teambuilding for the groupe JMI

We needed to bring everyone from the different entities making up JMI together in the one place.
And that’s exactly what we did, with 3 days given over to finding out more about each other, conversing and building up a real esprit de corps!

Establishment of a fourth Crusta C site in Arras

To cater to growing demand and further extend Crusta C’s geographical reach, a new site was created in Arras on the Actiparc industrial estate.

This site is entirely automated, ASC-certified and specializes in products for the supermarket aisle segment.
