1M1E – October 2023:  Marjorie Lagarrigue Accounting Manager France

The end of the year is fast approaching and it’s time to take stock of things with Marjorie Lagarrigue our Accounting Manager France based at our Isle Jourdain site!

How would you describe your typical working day?

Always intense! 

Working days are very busy and there’s not enough time to do everything – we never get bored! 

What projects are you currently working on?

Our current project is to standardize processes and use the same accounting tools across all our French-based companies. It’s an ambitious project, but we’re going to do our very best to make it happen! 

In a few words, describe your role to us.

• Pugnacity, I like this word, even if it’s not very ‘pretty’. It’s an important character trait and it describes me well. 
• Loyalty, I keep my promises, in both my professional and personal life, it’s just how I am. 
• Diligence: in my job, it’s absolutely crucial!

What are the key challenges or goals you have at work?

• To foster a good esprit de corps and a proactive work ethic. 
• Keeping to deadlines, making sure everything is done on schedule. 
• Doing my job well whilst staying calm and having a smile on my face! 

If you could choose anyone at all to be your mentor, who would it be? 

I don’t have a mentor. I like people who are genuine, who have a set of values, for whom honesty and hard work are important. 

What do you like best about your work? 

There’s nothing specific that sticks out, I just enjoy my job! 

Which professional achievement are you most proud of? 

My finest professional achievement is working with Crusta C. I arrived in 2010 for one month as a temp and 10 years on, I’m the Accounting Manager for the Groupe JMI’s French companies and I’m very proud of that! 

What advice would you give to new team members? 

Pay attention, be details-focused, like accounting… 

October’s question is: you can choose between dressing up as a prawn, a hen or a whelk for Hallowe’en – which costume would you choose? 

I’d choose the whelk costume – my office colleagues will know why!
