1M1C – September 2024: Clara Reynard: Production Manager & Technical Sales and Marketing
Clara REYNARD graduated in 2019 from an institution of higher education specialized in the agrifood sector. Today she’s going to tell you all about her job at Crusta C.
After successive internships and positions in France and abroad, she arrived at Crusta C three years ago! Having started out in a sales role, she progressed to a production manager position, whilst remaining active in the area of sales.
How would you describe your typical working day?
Every day is different in this job, it all depends on what the immediate priorities are. During periods of significant sales activity, there’s more of a focus on sales. The role’s other main concern is marketing, which is more of an in-depth mid- to long-term project.
What projects are you currently working on?
We’re putting a lot of work into how we structure our product launches. This involves accurately identifying the needs of the market and of customers, then ensuring that everything goes smoothly, from the design of a product all the way through to its market launch.
In a few words, describe your role to us.
- Adaptability: knowing how to switch seamlessly between sales and marketing.
- Communication: acting as a liaison between different departments, thus ensuring successful product launches.
- Structuring: implementing tools to help us to deliver a comprehensive product offering.
What are the key challenges or goals you have at work?
To always be listening carefully to what clients are saying and to be quick to respond to their requests. Customer satisfaction is of critical importance in our line of work.
What do you like best about your work?
The variety of different tasks. There’s no time to get bored; you learn something new every day about the world of prawns. Every week, indeed, every day is different. We work with chilled, highly-perishable products; one day we might be looking at aquaculture in South America, the next you may be focused on production, statistical analysis or labelling – at Crusta C, you have to be very versatile!
Which professional achievement are you most proud of?
I’m proud that I help get a high-quality, highly-perishable chilled product from point A to point B whilst keeping prices at a reasonable level. It really is the end result of a very complex process, so when our clients tell us they’re happy with the product and with our performance, it’s extremely satisfying.
What advice would you give to new team members?
Be open to new experiences and to learning new things, make sure you maintain contact with a variety of different departments because this will really help you to excel at your job and have an understanding of the constraints and challenges faced by everyone else in the company. Eating lots of prawns will also help you to be on top of your game!
September’s question is: what is your favourite prawn recipe?
I’d say prawn tartare!
Finely chop a few cooked prawns (Vannamei or Tiger prawns), add avocado, tomato and mango; a little lime juice and season with some herbs and spices. It’s the perfect summer dish! 😊
We’d like to thank Clara for agreeing to take part in our September interview!
